Internet Dating - Part Deux

-OK…As mentioned before, I decided to try the internet dating thing (only because I am shooting for such a narrow scope of people, and I am constantly at the computer anyway) – What would it hurt for me to set up a profile and answer emails in my free time? I’ll do it just to chat and network with other vegetarians. I’m not comfortable actually meeting an internet date in the flesh. - They are cyber personalities who should only text, chat, email, IM – stuff like that. --- LOL -- It just hit me, I‘m Niche Marketing for veggie cyber-friends. - I guess it won’t hurt. Right?

  1. No it won't hurt. And maybe, maybe somebody feels the same way. You never know.

  2. I hear you, but I do think it is limiting! I mean, I totally get someone wanting a non-smoker, but Vegan seems quite stringent. Why would it bother you to be around a meat eater? Typically, out of respect they would watch what they ate with you anyway. But you know how irritating it can be when someone is SO "green" and won't eat this, or drink that because of their belief? Having a lifestyle I get, but I think there a plenty of compatible couples that have different diets..and if they had let that get in the way they may have never met.

  3. I'm vegan and looking too.
I thought about perhaps dating non-vegans, but in the end, although they might be a great person, I imagine they are cooking up some meat in the kitchen... I don't know. Maybe I'd have to kick them out onto the back deck to cook on the BBQ, I wouldn't want that in my home. Plus, I remember what I was like health-wise before becoming vegan then afterwards how different it was, so would I want to be with someone who is not a healthy vegan? Food is a big part of my life; you are what you eat, and I love to eat. I guess I'm still undecided (as I've never been with a non-vegan - ever), but I'd definitely prefer a healthy vegan.

Check out this site, it's free and a good number of users.

I never have any idea what to write in such profiles, so don't read into it too much.

  6. If you're still looking you should move to Portland, unless you already live here. There are probably more vegans here than just about anywhere else. There is a vegan mini mall, and a strip of Alberta with lots of vegan friendly establishments. Check out the Meetup group I started too, and if you find yourself in Portland lets go out to a great vegan restaurant in town.
