Internet Dating ?!

My sister (and some friends that I had dinner with) strongly suggested I submit profiles to dating sites that cater to vegetarians. I cruised the internet and there were a few sites that seemed interesting …until you took a look at the men on these sites. I’m a tree-hugger, but I don’t want a slacker who sits around and burns incense... or an egocentric freak who takes photos of his muscles. -Am I gonna be reduced to dating a weirdo or pompous ass?
-And, dating on the internet seems desperate and whack!
Well, what do I have to lose? I guess I will give it a shot.

Sexy Lips - Sweet or Sour?

I was sitting across from a guy at a book store yesterday. He was tall, seemed to be employed, handsome and had very sexy mouth (lips, teeth, foreign accent and sexy lips). - He struck up a conversation and we had a great conversation! After chatting for a while I felt the warmth of my libido and the intensity of his interest. There was a bit of chemistry. This surprised me. I usually take a while before my physical organs get involved. He offered diner, gave me his card... then did the unthinkable. He unwrapped a ham sandwich with extra mayo and took a giant bite! Arrrrg! This blew it for me. His once supple and sexy lips now became a petri dish of bacteria, steroids, preservatives and dead pig juice. Needless to say, I never called.

A Real Eye Opening Experience

Hooray! (or maybe not)
- I real live man had the balls to walk up to me, and introduce himself. I have seen this dude at various veggie spots around town. He was a middle aged tall man with mocha brown hair, bedroom eyes and wearing a really sharp suit- (except for the bad choice in neck tie and cufflinks)… anyway – he was cute. I actually had some hope – until …I looked down at his finger and found that he was wearing a wedding ring. – WOW!

I'm embarrased-

I am kinda embarrassed with myself for seeking friendships in this way (eye batting). When I was in my 20s, I just went out in a slutty outfit, passed out my # to cute guys who seemed interesting, and took male callers. I dated as a sport. After several attempts to reach me ( I never accepted the call the 1st couple of times) I would go on a date. I ignored the guy during diner, halfway ignored the guy when on the phone, pretended to listen (by nodding my head and making eye contact), enjoyed the ride - and then after a couple of dates (if not bored to tears yet) allowed the guy to kiss me- then , (if not repulsed) had sex - then (if not ashamed or grossed out) accepted his proposal for other dates- It was pure entertainment. - Those were the good times.

And now I'm batting my eyes at random guys off the street?! I look the same as when I was 26ish - My mind matured - I grew up and realized that men are people with feelings (and the male ego). In my life's trials I grew a heart that beats with empathy for men - Oh nooooooo! Having a heart as a woman is Kryptonite.

Veganism defined-

It just dawned on me that some people don't know what Vegan is.
Here is the definition of Veganism from Wikipedia.org :

Veganism is a diet and lifestyle that seeks to exclude the use of animals for food, clothing, or any other purpose.[1][2] Vegans endeavor not to use or consume animal products of any kind.[3] The most common reasons for becoming a vegan are an ethical commitment or moral conviction concerning animal rights, the environment, human health, and spiritual or religious concerns.[4][5][2] Of particular concern are the practices involved in factory farming and animal testing, and the intensive use of land and other resources required for animal farming.
Various polls have reported vegans to be between 0.2%
[4] and 1.3%[6] of the U.S. population, and between 0.25%[5] and 0.4%[7] of the UK population.
Vegan diets (sometimes called strict or pure
vegetarian diets) are a subset of vegetarian diets, which are credited with lowering the risk of colon cancer, heart attack, high blood cholesterol, high blood pressure, prostate cancer, and stroke.[8] Properly planned vegan diets are healthful and have been found to satisfy nutritional needs.[9] However, poorly planned vegan diets can be low in levels of calcium, iodine, vitamin B12 and vitamin D. Vegans are therefore encouraged to plan their diet and take dietary supplements as appropriate.[10]

Tried to Flirt again - I Can't do this!

I tried to muster up the courage to flirt with an UNATTRACTIVE man, who in fact flirted with me 1st... and STILL couldn't do it. My cheeks were hot (which happens when I get embarrassed) - I left the scene of the crime and headed for the hills.
- FYI- I present and pitch ideas all day long at work! I am not shy!
-I think the traditional / conservative values instilled by my parents (who are from the South) are blocking me from executing the flirt mission. We were taught that the man approaches the woman. I want to believe myself to be a new age, liberal and take charge woman, but this @$#% is not easy for me- Oh, well! - I might need therapy for this. :)

Cute guy in Isle 3

I went to Whole foods after work today. I just couldn't do it (bat my eye lashes). When I grocery shop it's serious business (I'm reading labels and trying to stretch a dollar). -I did see a cute guy but, he was in the fish section getting salmon. The other guy I saw who was mildly attractive was absolutely too young (about 25 years old). - - Dammit! Why do I have to be such a minority? There were no other cute guys around, which kind of lets me off the hook. I'm still not comfortable with this! -If I were a guy and some strange woman kept looking at me, I would think she was odd. -Plus, I just don't know how eye contact can lead to anything in a cold store. So, I dabbled in the make up and picked up a salad for dinner.
- Went home - Did some work - Had dinner - fed and walked dog - went to sleep.

No Sex in the City

-Please allow me to introduce myself. ---
I am a 35 year old single, smart and sophisticated woman who lives in a major city- No husband and no kids.- I am a television producer and real estate agent. Yes, you heard me- I have 2 jobs. - I am healthy, happy and free! -Yeah....I am blessed and have a wonderful life ---But there's a catch - I'm alone (even when I'm in a room full of people). I am a single, sexless Vegetarian (only because I don't #*$@! meat eaters) ...and not ready to settle for less, which is "girl code" for not wanting to date mama's boys, selfish assholes or lazy couch potatoes....and not wanting to entertain immature or insecure boys .....or those who have impregnated several women . ---Well, you get the picture.
-As a result, I haven't dated, slept with, talked on the phone with, kissed or dry humped a man in 2 years. I am not itching for sex anymore (it was rough for the 1st year- but I'm OK now). Two years ago, I left a 7 year relationship, buckled down on my career and decided not to take Carnivores seriously ( I will flirt, spoon with and fantasize about them- but no physical exchange). - Please know that it's already hard enough for normal girls to have a decent dating life --and...I had to add to the difficulty by narrowing my choices to the slim few that don't dine on animals. My friends are married, super picky or hoping to get married to the one they are with. When I go out, the buzzards start circling (I seem to attract the biggest assholes in the house). The seemingly nice guys are shy or laid back - they are out-numbered by women sometimes 15 to 1 and have no need to approach women.
- My Mom has advised me to bat my eye lashes and give eye contact to cute (and employed) men at Whole Foods. Friends want me to Internet date so that I can streamline my callers to vegetarians who like to travel. I will give it a try - but treat it like a game, where I can observe the ratio of weirdos to normal guys. The hopeless romantic part of me want to believe that a man of quality would actually graze the Internet for a real connection (not just for sex).
- So, I decided to start this blog because an an attempt to connect with others of my kind. I will share tells of Internet play and eye lash batting. I am not a good eye lash batter , and have never Internet dated - so this is gonna be interesting.
